Public Health Code of Ethics
The Public Health Code of Ethics is a set of professional standards and expectations intended for public health practitioners throughout the field. In 2002, a code entitled Principles of the Ethical Practice of Public Health was developed by the Public Health Leadership Society and adopted and published by the American Public Health Association. This 2019 version of the Public Health Code of Ethics contains ethical standards and obligations for both public health practitioners and institutions, and it is intended to guide individual and collective decision making.

The leading independent panel of private-sector experts in prevention and primary care, the USPSTF conducts rigorous, impartial assessments of the scientific evidence for the effectiveness of a broad range of clinical preventive services. Its recommendations are considered the "gold standard" for clinical preventive services. USPSTF recommendations have formed the basis of the clinical standards for many professional societies, health organizations, and medical quality review groups.
