Framework Structure
This fifth revision of the Framework is organized into four components comprising 23 knowledge domains. Each domain includes topic areas and recommended curriculum content with illustrative examples. This structure allows each health profession the flexibility to tailor teaching strategies and integrate content at multiple levels of education and training.

Clinical Preventive Services & Health Promotion

Evidence-based, health promotion and disease prevention interventions in the clinical setting.

Clinical Practice & Population Health

Opportunities and disciplines that require individual- and population-based health perspectives.

Health Systems & Health Policy

Systems and policies that help to govern the health and healthcare system, including collaborations between the clinical care and public health communities.
